Since the air pressure of the air source tends to be higher than the actual required pressure of each equipment, and the pressure fluctuation value is relatively large, it is necessary to use a pressure reducing valve to reduce its pressure to the required pressure of each equipment. The function of the pressure reducing valve is to adjust the output pressure to a set value lower than the input pressure and keep it stable. The pressure reducing valve is also called a pressure regulating valve. The pneumatic Pressure Regulating Valve GR is the same as the liquid pressure reducing valve, also uses the outlet pressure as the control signal.

The pressure characteristic of the pressure reducing valve is a function relation between the output pressure and the input pressure at a certain flow rate (refer to manual). Comparing the pressure characteristic curve of the pressure reducing valve, it can be seen that the pressure stability of the pressure reducing valve is best when the output pressure is low and the flow rate is appropriate. When the output pressure is high and the flow rate is too large or too small, the stability of the pressure reducing valve is poor.
Pressure Regulating Valve Flow Characteristics
The flow characteristics indicate the function relation between the output flow and the output pressure when the input pressure is fixed value (refer to manual). According to the flow characteristic curve of the pressure reducing valve, when the input pressure is fixed value, the lower the output pressure, the smaller the fluctuation of the output pressure caused by the flow rate change.
The structure of the pressure reducing valve directly affects the pressure regulation accuracy of the valve. For the direct-acting pressure reducing valve, the smaller the spring stiffness, the higher the pressure regulation accuracy. However, the spring stiffness should not be too small, and should be compatible with the working pressure and the nominal flow rate; the larger the diaphragm diameter, the higher the pressure regulation accuracy, but can be too large, so as not to affect the spring stiffness and the size of the valve structure; Under the premise of ensuring sealing, should be as far as possible to reduce the friction generated by the sealing ring on the valve center in order to improve the pressure regulation accuracy.
In order to make the pneumatic control system work normally, the following problems should be considered when selecting the pressure reducing valve:
1. Select the pressure reducing valve according to the required working pressure, pressure regulation range, maximum flow rate and voltage stabilization accuracy. The nominal flow rate of the pressure reducing valve is the main parameter, which generally corresponds to the port size of the valve. Pilot-type precision pressure reducing valves should be used when the voltage regulation accuracy is high.
2. In the case where flammable, explosive and other people are not approach, the external pilot type pressure reducing valve should be used. However, the remote control distance should not exceed 30m.
3. The pressure reducing valve is generally connected by the pipe, special needs can also be connected by the plate. Pressure reducing valves are often used with filters and lubricators. If so, pneumatic two-pieces or triple-pieces should be considered to save space.
4. For the convenience of operation, the pressure reducing valve is generally installed vertically, and the arrow is pointed to the nozzle according to the valve body, and the direction cannot be incorrectly installed. Do a good job of cleaning before installation.
5. When the pressure reducing valve is not in use, the handle should be loosened to prevent the diaphragm inside the valve from being deformed due to long-term stress. The temperature and pressure reducing valve controls the opening degree of the opening and closing parts in the valve body to regulate the medium flow, reduces the pressure of the medium, and temperature and pressure reducing valve adjusts the opening degree of the opening and closing parts with the outlet pressure. The outlet pressure is kept within a certain range, and cooling water is sprayed into the valve body or valve outlet to reduce the temperature of the medium. The valve is characterized by keeping the outlet pressure and temperature within a certain range while the inlet pressure is constantly changing. The pressure reducing valve is an essential accessory of the pneumatic regulating valve. The main function is to reduce the pressure of the air source and stabilize it to a certain value, so that the regulating valve can obtain stable air source power for adjustment and control.
